Susanne Cook-Greuter

Susanne is an independent scholar who is recognized for her ground-breaking work in ego development theory and the function of language in meaning making. 2018 her focus will be on writing a book on these topics. She has a doctorate in human development and psychology from Harvard. Susanne is a founding member of Ken Wilber’s Integral Institute (2000) and an elder of its community. She sees herself as a benevolent skeptic as she likes to question any certainties espoused in the field of transformational and consciousness studies. At the same time, she remains fascinated by novel approaches and directions in supporting human growth.

She travels world-wide to facilitate learning about adult development, works as a consultant and coach for organizations with a developmental mandate. She certifies coaches and scorers in using the MAP, a validated developmental tool she developed since 1980, and enjoys scoring herself as each MAP provides a genuine encounter with another human being.
